I found the recall of Levothroid on the product recall notice. I investigated and found no one including pharmacy that was aware of recall. Hoping to save others this ordeal I advised Endos’ asst. I feel Endo didn’t address it due to legal recourse. She didn’t respond at all. A month prior she kept saying your case is becoming unmangable. I had been on 100mcg, 75mcg, 25mcg, 5mcg. I found a better med thru calls to drug hotline, net, Jake and prayer. This is scary it is so important to utilize all your resources. Thanks NGDF for being here for us all.
We try hard, favor. I really hope you will find the peace of mind you are searching for. I personally have not been on any meds that I was aware of being recalled, however, had some that didn’t work as well as it should have. Makes me wonder about it.
Hang in there!

online FacilitatorYou should follow your doctor’s advice, favor. Stopping your meds could cause you some problems, just how severe, I cannot say. you need to sit down and discuss your fears with your doctor- today.
As for Graves’ being life-threatening, Yes, it can, if left untreated.
This disease is managable, if you foloow the treatment plan handed down to you. often, people cannot accept this and don’t follow these. Then they wonder why they are having all the problems and who tends to get blamed, their doctors!
What I want to say to you is this: there will always be differences in opinions. However, when talking with the experts in the field, you will find the same three treatment options mentioned as the way to manage your disease. When you say your meds were recalled, are you referring to synthroid?
This particular drug has been recalled a couple of times. There was a class action lawsuit over this. I have not heard of a current recall, however. When they have recalled, it has usually been a certain dosage of the drug, not all of it. If this is what you are referring to, please, don’t panic, there are other options. If your doctor wasn’t alarmed, then I would wonder if in fact, the dosage you take was not on that recall? Why not call him and discuss this instead of stressing(which you truly don’t need!)?Let us know what you find out, please?
Best Wishes,
Jan
Online FacilitatorHi favor,
I did see a recall on the Levothyroxine(sp?). I went to the another site to get this info. If you need the location let me know. I just don’t have it handy. I think it was the American Thyroid Foundation or similar. I will look it up again. Email me if you like. -
