I was just wondering if former Pres. Brush’s wife Barbara was doing
will..as she too is a Graves’ suffer.

Maybe someone can find her and encourage her help..

Not only does Barbara Bush have Graves Disease, but also the former president.

They both do public service announcements for the Thyroid Society here in
Houston.

That’s really interesting since I think they could offer more help to Nancy P. with this organization. Is the Thyroid Society part of the TFA in Boston or another organization entirely.
Is the Houston organization connected with Gail Devers?

Joan,

The Houston organization is the Thyroid Society for Education and Research
…something or other. I don’t remember the whole title. They are
a separate organization from TFA. They publish a newsletter, quarterly
I think, called The Thyroid Connection. They just started publishing
it within the last 2 or 3 years and have thus far had feature stories
on Muhammad Ali, Joe Piscapo and one other famous person with a thyroid
disorder. (I have only received three issues since I joined them.) I
received a copy of an article about Gail Devers from either the Society
or TFA that indicates that she actually has done some work with the
Society in the past. It was mentioned in passing at the end of the
article. I’ll dig it out and send you the quote from it, if you’re
interested.
