Make an appointment with your doctor. The odor is NOT from Graves’ disease! I suggest you consult a urologist. Please let us know how you make out.

Could the bad smell in urine be caused by Graves or from a Liver problem? From what I can remember, my urine was checked 8 months ago when I noticed this awful smell and nothing came up on the test. However, the doctor I had at the time was not “attentive” amongst other things so I have since changed. I thought I had read on here at one time that someone else had the same issue with their urine smelling awful. It was like this before any meds was given so I know it’s not from the PTU or beta blocker. Also, about 2 years ago, my skin complexion began to change and people were telling me I was getting “lighter”. I’m 40 years of age, African American and have never has this yellowish/pale look. Last year on my 40th bday, I got sunburned for the first time in my life while attending a jazz festival in Las Vegas. It wasn’t even hot on this particular day (spring time). I have been in the sun on much hotter days and only have gotten darker, not sun burned. Any advice or similar experiences would be helpful so that I can add this to my list of things to discuss with the doc on 2/18. Thanks and God Bless U ALL!!

I had this before I was diagnosed with Graves disease also. After I started on the PTU it went away, I never did ask the dr about it though so I don’t know if it was related or not. But I have never had it before and never had it since.
