Hi all, I’m wondering how long does it take to adjust after a dosage change? My PTU just got lowered a very small amount and I’m having some mild hyper symptoms. I’ve read that it’s not unusual and to ride it out but can’t find info on how long it’ll last. It makes me have new respect for how crazy it was back when the hyper was full strength though. I’ve been struggling with bouts of anger that came on pretty unexpectedly, pulse has gotten a little faster, etc.

    Thanks all!

ATDs can affect things pretty rapidly, so it’d be wise to keep an eye on your symptoms and keep in touch with your doctor if they continue unabated, or get worse.

Thanks Ski – I’ll def talk to the doc if it keeps up I was just hoping it was a transient kind of thing.

Yes it does feel a bit strange, but then for me at least, two weeks into the dosage change I started to feel better. they have been weaning me off Methimazole little by little to almost nonexistent. At first I think our nerves gets to us and we panic a bit. I took a deep breath and tried to stay as calm as possible. If I felt rage coming up I either kept to myself, kept my mouth shut or vented on the boards (lol), but they have subsided tremendously. Good luck and getting your meds reduce is a good thing. It means they are working and your body is responding to treatment and you are healing from the inside. Yayyyyy.
