Hi,
My daughter just got diagnosed but her levels were significantly different to yours:
fT3 11.2
fT4 31
TSH less than 0.01She didn’t have any symptoms which rang alarm bells for us, just thought she was the usual anxious, hyper teenager & her GD was picked up totally by chance. Now, however, looking back many of the ‘teenage’ things were actually the GD!.
Don’t stress about it. Wait & see what happens this week. It’s often the not knowing that is hardest so once you get all your results you’ll be better placed to deal with things.
Best of luck. xI have a friend that told me her TSH numbers hovered around where mine were before she was diagnosed with GD. Much of what i have read indicates the same thing. I have a follow up apt next week, and will have them test me for antibodies, and get an ultrasound scheduled. I really don’t have ANY symptoms at the moment.
My lab results;
T3 1.17(0.970-1.69)
TSH 0.353 (0.465-4.68)
ft4 0.95(0.78-2.19)
Thyroxine 6.99 (5.53-11.0)Anyone here have similar readings before GD hit?
Hello,
I think that everyone’s path is different. The first time my TSH was flagged as out of range was in May 2007, and it was 0.07. Further testing showed that my FT3 and FT4 were out of range on the high side. I have a copy of my labs from 2 years prior, and my TSH was 4.1. Some newer lab ranges actually consider that to be on the hypo side — although it was considered "normal" at the time.
It’s good that you are taking an active role in your own healthcare by doing your research, but I wouldn’t say that your labs are definitely a sign of Graves disease in progress, especially since your FT3 and FT4 are on the low end.
There are cases of "subclinical" Graves or "euthyroid" Graves, where the antibodies are present, but FT3/FT4 are normal. Someone with more experience in this area can probably jump in, but I believe the approach used in these cases is more of a "wait and see" to determine if hyperthyroidism eventually occurs.
