    Hi all!

So, I’m 8 months post TT and have been on 112 mcg. of brand Synthroid since 6 weeks post surgery (upped from 100 mcg since day 2). I’ve been stable and doing well. My last labs show my Total T3 and free T4 in range. Free T4 at the upper end of normal). My TSH is just below normal though at 0.29. The bottom of the normal range is 0.39- 5.00 (upper end). My doctor thinks my Synthroid might be too high, but doesn’t want to change the dose right now. I still have 100 mcg. from my 1st prescription and asked him about maybe taking 100 mcg. twice a week and 112 mcg. the other 5 days. I haven’t heard back. I wondered if anyone alternates their doses in that way?

My symptoms aren’t terrible. I do feel as if I have a tiny bit too much hormone pumping through my body. I have acute senses (especially sight and smell) and get that sort of constricted/ anxiety breathing sporadically, and my bowel movements are a little loose. My heart rate is fine (60 resting), I don’t have any other hyper symptoms. I feel pretty good in general, but I wonder if I bumped the TSH up a bit if the lingering symptoms would disappear. I just wanted to see if anyone alternates their doses instead of taking one dose daily?

Hello – Hopefully, you will get some additional responses here, but I *have* heard from other patients who alternate doses of Synthroid on different days in order to find that “sweet spot”.

It’s certainly worth asking the doc about!

A friend of mine takes alternating doses of 112 & 100mcg of levoxyl.

Been taking it like that for years and she feels great.
