    I will be getting RAI/I-131 May 3rd, 2012.

    Has anyone had problems with an allergic reaction to the I-131?

    I already know some people can have stomach upset, even a slight fever, sore throat, etc., post RAI yet never heard of major allergic reactions.

    I already had the Radioactive Iodine Uptake with the I-123 back in August 2010 and no problems; just a sore throat for a little bit.

    I have allergies to pets, some topicals and a small amount of medications, yet nothing major. I never thought of this until now.

    I can eat shellfish no problem.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the response; I actually do search the posts on this site regularly re: RAI and I have not actually found a specific answer for that question. One about iodine in CT scan. Which I already know about that having a CT scan myself with contrast back in 2009.
