Hi all – the agenda is now available for the event at Shiley Eye Center. Also, a webcast is planned that will start at 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 25th. Links for the agenda, webcast, and in-person registration are included in the story below:

(Note on links: if you click directly on the following link, you will need to use your browser’s “back” button to return to the boards after viewing, or you will have to log back in to the forum. As an alternative, you can right-click the link and open it in a new tab or new window).

Please note that the webcast is being done through the University of California San Diego, and GDATF staff will not be available to provide technical assistance. If all goes well (fingers crossed!), you should just be able to click the appropriate link (included in the above news story) at 9:00 a.m. on 1/25 and see the presentations going on.

EDIT – Please note the following new info that we received from the IT staff at UCSD: “Streaming is supported by the newest Chrome, Firefox, and IE browsers. If you do not have one of these, make sure you have the most up-to-date Flash installed.”

This updated software will be needed if you wish to view the live broadcast; however, I have been told that the session will be taped and made available to the public at a later date.

    Kimberly,
Sounds wonderful! I am sorry not to be attending.
If it is not too late, please ask Dr. Granet to address palatal grafts to lower lids, including the state of the “art” for this procedure, who does the graft site, what the standard of care is nationwide, and the outcomes.

Another thing to address for any surgical procedure, and in this case, TED, is how a patient reliably reports an unfavorable outcome, since the surgeons have no incentive to do that.

    Thanks, Shirley

@Shirley – I did send the graft questions on to Shiley when we traded messages a while ago, but will add the info on reporting unfavorable outcomes to see if they can add that. The Q&A will be around an hour, so the docs will try to squeeze in as much info as possible.

All – I have updated the first message in this thread with some additional technical requirements that Shiley Eye Center provided us with today. Please take a look if you plan to participate on Saturday. My understanding is that the event will be recorded and made available to the public at a later date, although I don’t have a timeframe yet.
