I was diagnosed with Graves’ two years ago. My numbers are normal now, but I sure don’t remember what normal feels like. I take Synthroid everyday. I am 50 lbs overweight and frustrated as ever. The worst is not being able to get up in the morning. I read somebody else’s post about that…I SO understand. Once I am up, I am OK. But, I could sleep for days if you would let me.

Anyway..I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of Adrenal Fatigue. I am not really a fan of “alternative medicine” but I have a friend who took a home test for Adrenal Fatigue and was diagnosed as positive (she has no diagnosed thyroid issues). I am intrigued by this because Internet articles talk about “non-responsive hypothyroid” as being something that can be helped by this. The symptoms are VERY similar to being hypo in my opinion (tired for no reason, trouble getting up in the a.m., feeling run down and overwhelmed, crave salty and sweet snacks, etc.). Has anyone been treated for Adrenal Fatigue in conjunction with thyroid issues? I’d be curious to see what others think.

    Thanks.

Never heard of anyone having GD and then getting Addison disease. But I believe both are auto immune. Seems like some of us if we get one we can get more. Not fun.
