The ADA has lost almost all of its power due to lawyers for companies stripping if of its provisions.

Sad to say. It used to be reasonable accomidations meant that your employer had to meet you half way. No More. Lawyers have worked to get businesses out of having to provide even the simplist accomadations.

Your best bet is to get with a lawyer who specializes in Social Security law and ADA. They may be able to get you some help with your employer.

Sorry I do not have a better picture to paint. But it started out good but has been watered down so much it is almost useless unless your employer wants to comply. If they do not a lawyer is your only option.

    Jake,

I did a search on site for ADA and found an e-mail from you dated 1/12/04. I’m not trying to get anything from my company but for them to let me work as long as needed on bad days, for free, but also documented. Legal said no based on my classification as a non-exempt employee. Isn’t me wanting to work my “full” 8 hours just a form of an accommodation? I just want to work and get my job done.
