    Hi, everyone!

I’m now on 88mcg of Levothyroxine. It’s been about a month, and I feel okay. Still not back to how good I felt pre-op, but every increase of the med has helped. The doc is increasing it very slowly. The first time she tried me on 88mcg, I almost went insane with anxiety, heart palpatations, etc. This time, no problems. I had been seeing my endo once a month, but after the last visit I decided to stretch it out to 2 months between labs, to see how I do that long. My last labs were much better than when I was hypo, but still need some tweaking to get where they were pre-op. I’ve developed much more patience and don’t worry about stuff so much.

I’m seeing my surgeon Jan 8th to follow up with still having voice problems this far down the line. Hopefully something can be done.

I haven’t been exercising as much as I used to, and although my weight is stable, I’m gaining inches due to more fat. Not happy with that, but just trying to do what I can. I did walk in a 5K today, and try to keep doing those. I’ve done 5 since March. My motivation has gotten a little better, but wish it was a lot better.

All in all, I can’t complain much. My brother-in-law with colon cancer is doing okay on chemo. I visited my sister and family at Thanksgiving. HIs liver labs are becoming more normal. He’ll get his first CT scan since starting chemo in January. Hopefully it will show a big improvement, especially with the liver tumors. He’s in good spirits and thinking positive. The visit was so nice, so good to see my sister and the kids, too.

So nice to see familiar names, plus a lot of new ones!

    Hi Amy,

Thank you for sharing with us your post-TTX experience.
I have an appt with my ENT surgeon on January 7th.
I’m in Canada, so I’ll probably have to wait at least 6 months to get operated.
Plus, I’ll get bumped over thyroid cancer patients who are more of a priority case over mine.
Honestly, Canada should go private, like US, so that things move more efficiently.

That’s great that you are feeling okay after 1 month.
How long were you away from work?

You must be relieved to have gotten rid of your thyroid, no?

Take good care of yourself, and be well.

Hi Amy – Thanks for the update…so nice to see you posting! Glad to hear that you are feeling better, even if progress seems slow. Give yourself a pat on the back for the 5Ks – that is a great accomplishment!

Wishing you and your family all the best during the holiday season.

SO NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU! I check often to see if you’ve posted and frequently wonder how you’re doing.

Next week will be 5 months since my TT and I think I have finally found a good dosage. I alternate between 100 mcg. and 112 so if you average that out it’s 106 mcg. a day. I’m on 5 weeks of that regimen and I think I like it. I’m sleeping OK at night but have enough energy through the day and evening to be productive. Anxiety is down, but weight is going up. :(

Good luck with the post-op….. hope improving your voice will be an easy fix.

Amy! You’re 7 months post-op, with stable/normal labs now AND you haven’t gained weight during the months leading up to this?!?! If you haven’t yet, seems to me that you’re not going to. (At least not from thyroid-related issues!)

5 5k’s since March? Your motivation sounds pretty good to me!

    You’ve got this!!!! :)
