I had my total thyroidectomy on May 6th, and just had my two-week post op appointment with the surgeon today (had blood drawn yesterday). All my numbers are great! Even my blood sugars have come down and my A1C is great (diabetes related). My calcium is coming back to normal and I get to cut down on the supplements. My blood pressures have been normal.

And, most importantly, I have to say I feel a lot better. Not 100% yet, but I can tell a difference. I am taking Synthroid and so far have had no issues with it. I know only time will tell – I’d like to see how I’m feeling six months from now – but so far, so good, and I’m looking forward to feeling better this summer. (I’m also looking forward to my eyes normalizing at some point, but I know that might take a while).

Thanks to all for your advice.
