Been away for a while, but thought I’d just update.
We had an appointment with Endo the other day and my partner has officially been discharged after 18 months off meds (PTU) & all levels good, still taking a few suppliments, but nothing like the treatment dosages she was taking.
FT4 13.5 (9 – 20)
FT3 3.8 (2.6 – 5.7)
TSH 1.19 (0.4 – 4.0)
We would have liked to get antibodies tested also, but Endo does not see any need for it, huh (just need to pull back and breath sometimes)
All is good and there was another nice surprise in tests, fasting glucose came in at 4.4 (3.5 – 5.5), historically hers has always been at high end of range, mostly 5.0 – 5.3 consistently, so it was good to see it come down so much, hoping it stays there, plans to do big panel of testing in 6 months.
After all the research over the years I have come to the conclusion that blood sugar is a very early marker of disease onset and also one of the last to correct as well.
Diet wise we have fallen off the wagon a few times, but are back on track with renewed vigour the last 3-4 months, the focus being primarily on “Nutrient Density”, I would describe it as maybe “Paleo Light” still mixing it up with all manner of meats, but a very strong focus on Fruit & Veg in both variety & volume.
