Regarding Lisa’s story about her supervisor. In the place I left, I found generally anyone who had a health problem, no matter what the previous worth of the individual to the job, was now considered a liability. In other words, someone who can’t function the way the company requires is no longer desired. Many of us with even job related injuries were treated in a hostile manner. I am concerned about the general lack of loyalty to employees, and what they don’t seem to realize is the result–a lack of loyalty to the company by the employees. I think we need to know more about our legal rights re: dealing with a temporary disability. I was glad to read the reply from Pestep01 that caring was the response of her/his illness. Now, I am going to school so I can work for myself.
