Hi Smurfee,
I experienced a Thyroid Storm that began on June 7th and lasted for 3 weeks because the docs were convinced that it was my pancrease or diabetis or hypoglycemia. I was driving 65 mph during rush hour traffic and everything began to spin and when I awoke I was on the shoulder of the road and my truck was turned off. I swear I had an angel in my truck with me that day. I went to the ER and they thought I was having a heart attack. My heart rate was 140+ and I had this pain in my chest that I later was told was adrenalin. I’ve never had a panic attack. Anyway, knowing my medical history with hypoglycemia they brought me a breakfast tray and sent me home.
In the days to follow my symptoms only got worse. I couldn’t see because I couldn’t focus on anything at any range. Being a single parent I was a prisoner. I had difficulty walking my dog, let alone walking to the store or anywhere else. I was so hot all of the time.
It is the single most fearful time in my entire life. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.
But it does get better with treatment.
Good Luck and if I can ever help you, just email.
Pam
