Hi all – For those who do not receive e-mail or regular mail from the GDATF, here is the info on our Annual Fund Drive. (Note: if you click directly on the link to donate, you will need to use your browser’s “back” button to return to the boards after viewing, or you will have to log back in to the forum. As an alternative, you can right-click the link and open it in a new tab or new window).
Dear Friends,
It’s been another successful year for the Graves’ Disease & Thyroid Foundation! We would like to thank our continuing members, and invite those who haven’t yet joined to become a part of the GDATF. This year, we want to know where YOU would like the GDATF to invest your contributions. And whichever option you select, the Bell Charitable Foundation will double your impact with a 100% match! Options include:
1. Patient Education Events. Our half- day format for educational programming has allowed us to reach more patients and family members in more locations throughout the U.S.. We’d like to extend a special thanks to our partners for this year’s programming: University of California San Diego Shiley Eye Center (San Diego, CA); GDATF Raleigh Support Group, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and Kittner Eye Center (Chapel Hill, NC); Massachusetts Eye & Ear (Boston, MA); and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA). Thanks to the generous support of our partners and members – and our ongoing efforts to keep costs low – we were able to provide all of our 2014 programming at no cost to the public!
2. Research on Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Eye Disease. The GDATF continues to provide support and expertise for those engaging in ongoing research into Graves’ disease and thyroid eye disease. Although many research projects require millions of dollars in funding, your support can have a significant impact on smaller projects, often conducted by up-and-coming researchers.
3. Attendance at Physician Conferences. In 2014, the GDATF had representatives attend several physician conferences, including the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Society of Ophthalmic, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Thyroid Association. Attendance at these events allows us to learn about cutting-edge research, to communicate patient concerns to thyroid experts, and to let physicians know about the GDATF’s patient service offerings.
4. Patient Support Services. As always, the GDATF continues to provide one-on-one support to patients and family members via local support groups, our online support forum, social media, e-mail, U.S. mail, and a toll-free hotline.
Donations can be made securely on our web site at http://gdatf.org/shop/donate/ or sent via regular mail to:

Wishing you all the best this holiday season and a healthy, happy New Year!
