    Hello,

My hyperthyroid partner is starting with Kaiser Permanente and needs to select a primary care physician. When we search for doctors accepting new patients, some come up as family medicine and some as internal medicine. Can anyone advise if there would be differences in knowledge about treating Graves’ Disease? Although I know we will have to have an endo, we won’t have many options with that, I think there are only three Kaiser endos in our area and they are all at the same practice. I want to make sure we select the best primary care doctor, since it seems that they provide most of the care in between endo visits.

    Thank You,
    Scarlett

I suggest internal med. family practice doc are good however in some places their practice includes OB and peds. The chance of getting an internal
Med doc increase a bit that they will be more familiar with Graves
Good to end up w endo sooner or later to begin
