I insisted on a Thyroid Receptor Antibody test to prove that I did not just have postpartum
thyroiditis. It came back positive and I realized I had built my hopes up in a major way
that it wouldn’t be. I’m scheduled to consult with the radiologist on Monday since PTU is
making my skin flushed and I’m not improving at such a terrific rate.

How long will I not be able to hug my infant and my two older girls? I know that I would
have to sleep separate from my hubby for two days. What’s this stuff about
dental problems and salivary glands? Is that if you drink the liquid, take the pill or
either one? How long does it take to feel well if your uptake scan wasn’t that lousy to begin with?

And a big question: Not everyone gets the eye problems right?

Thanks! I’m in need of some knowledge to help the anxiety ebb. Glynis

Only 15% lucky GD patients get eye involvement. It’s not a very common sympton but evidently a very
troublesome one. I have had GD 43 years now and I don’t have any eye problems. Neither do my mom or
her sister and their father did so there’s no predicting it. Good luck!
