    Hi all,
I saw a post some time ago (can’t remember where it was) where it seemed to imply that the person considering RAI treatment for their GD thought it caused hair loss. RAI DOES NOT CAUSE HAIR LOSS. Graves’ disease causes hair loss. When you are hyper, hair becomes very brittle and breaks off. It will fall out when you are hypo. Some do not experience any noticeable hair loss (don’t know the stats or even if there are any). I’d hate to think there is someone out there ruling out consideration of a recommended RAI treatment because of a misunderstanding.

I read the post about hair loss. Is this common when a person is
over medicated with synthroid? My daughter’s synthroid was raised to
.15 in January and she has recently started to lose a LOT OF HAIR. I
plan to take her to the doctor on Monday. It takes about ten days for
blood test results here in Japan. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for
    your help and support. Kaci
