Caroline, I was told that after RAI that I would be put back on
Tapazole for a few weeks until the RAI had a chance to take effect.
The Endo thought that this would be better than going HYPER again.

I received RAI 2 weeks ago. Now my collar bone, especially close to the neck has been hurting. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

How much help will one 10mg dose of Tapazole be? The Endo only wrote the script for one dose per day. I’ve been reading that it ususally is spread over three doses to keep you level.

PTU is taken a few times over the day, Tapazole is formulated so that you only need to take it once.

    I hope that helps!

It depends on the dose of medication you get how often you take it. The doctor will write the frequency of doses when he does your prescription.

Doses of Tapazol and PTU are not the same nor are they usually taken the same. Perhaps you confused the two.

Thanks for the info….the script is for 10mg Tapazole once per day. I just don’t know what to do anymore. With this script I am now taking 50mg. Tenormin (beta blocker) twice per day, 1mg. Ativan at night to sleep and eye drops every two hours…….This thing really begins to rule your life, doesn’t it!
