    Hi fellow GD Warriors,

Just wanted to say I’m noise sensitive too. Since I started anti-thyroid
meds, I can’t stand crowds, sudden noises, or often my daughter talking.
She’s 7 so she talks all the time, from 8 am to 11 am (when she may go to
    sleep if I’m lucky).

I don’t want to put anyone down, but sometimes I think that whenever we
feel bad now, we can put it to graves’. All the old people (35+) when I
was a child were complaining of aches and pains. All the women had
librium (a muscle relaxant) and valium. Joint aches, headaches, vertigo,
and depression were considered much more normal, particularly for
housewives. I guess what I’m saying is that I find myself talking about
my illness just like my parents and their generation talked about their
health. I’m 41 and want to pretend I’m still youthful and shouldn’t have
aches and pains or any problems whatsoever.

I’m feeling irrationally angry a lot these days, but I’m sure it’s in my
head. Conversely, I’m sad a lot too. It’s even been suggested I might
take antidepressives. That’s a depressing thought. Prozac (or zoloft,
paxil, etc) replaces valium in the 90’s. It seems the more things
change the more they stay the same.

    Linda
