Well, when you eat a high-carbohydrate meal, your body produces high amounts ot tryptophan, an amino acid that has the opposite effects of tyrosine, and makes you tired and groggy. Taking a tyrosine supplement before you conosume the meal may conteract tryptophan, and you may not be so groggy. the two amino acids sorta cancel each other out. About 1 gram would do the job.
