    Denise,

Thanks for the reply. I live in Madison, WI…you, too? My endo
is with Physicians Plus, also a woman. Anyway, she said that if I get pregnant
while on PTU and my levels continue to escalate or don’t improve, a second
trimester thyroidectomy might be my only option. Otherwise, the baby would
be at risk of being born with goiter, or worse, without a thyroid. I started
the PTU on Sunday, and the taste is AWFUL. I’m hoping that I get used to
it as time goes on. My husband and I have decided to take a wait-and-see
approach to having another baby. I’m 32, with 2 boys ages 7 and 5. Don’t want
to wait too much longer, but am hoping to at least see some progress after
my first set of blood work in six weeks. A girl can dream!!

I’m so glad everything went well for you. I’m sure it’s hard to tell, since
you were pregnant, but did you experience fatigue on PTU. In just 3 days,
I’m so tired that I actually have been napping…not easy with two young kids.
    Is this normal??

My best to you and your family. Thanks again for the helpful information.

    Kelly
