Em, you are so right. If I remember correctly Bush was running for re-election after he had his RAI. No wonder he didn’t seem to have much interest in running or winning. I don’t know how he did his job – I could hardly do mine which is a lot less significant. Do you remember when he was taking Halcyon sleeping pills? I wonder if he was in the early hyper stages at that time?
A for the thyroid not being ‘glamorous’, I think it’s probably more political than that. It’s my belief that little time and money is spent on any thyroid illness because it’s seen as a ‘women’s illness’ or as my former endo put it, ‘a minor little women’s problem’. If 80% of the people who got thyroid disease were male, I believe there would be more options and better treatment of patients.
