We received the following message from Diane’s daughter, Lisa (Another Graves’ Disease Warrior.)

I’m sorry to inform you that my mother passed away on July 29th. She passed away in her sleep in her favorite chair watching TV. She had not been having any problems.

Could you please pass the news on about my mother to the graves disease message board for me.

And let them all know that I said my mother loved helping people through the disease and she loved everyone that she was in contact with thru graves‘ disease.

    Take care,
    Lisa Barnes

I, too am shocked and saddened to hear the news of Diane’s passing. I’ve known Diane for many years and enjoyed seeing her at a number of NGDF Conferences, and future ones will not be the same without her physical presence. I know our memories of her will keep her with us in spirit.

My heartfelt condolences to her daughter Lisa and the rest of her family as they adjust to living without her.

Diane was, along with all of you I have met, one of my favorite people in the world. It feels emptier without her.

I have found that when friends and relatives have passed, I can feel them near me when I think of them. It is easy for me to conjure up Diane’s face, her words, her laughter. I truly feel she is near when I think of her, but it’s sad to think that I’ll never look upon her earthly face or hear her voice in my earthly ears again.

My best to all who are adjusting to the loss.

    ~Ski
