I reread the post I made, and want to clarify something for you which I don’t think I made clear. The body has to be controlled at normal levels of thyroid hormone in order to BEGIN to heal. It takes months AT normal levels of hormone for the healing process to be able to take place effectively. You will probably not “feel” normal when your body reaches normal levels of hormone. I remember feeling distinctly better at that point in time. But many people don’t seem to feel much difference. Anyway, when you have finally gotten to controlled normal levels of hormone, you should see progress towards feeling better, but you should not expect to instantaneously feel normal again. My GP told me that in her experience, it takes about nine months AT normal levels of hormone for patients to reach a point where they feel normal again — but that is just an average, perhaps. Many patients get extremely frustrated when they see normal levels — at last — of hormone, but do not feel well still. They think something is wrong. But it isn’t: it takes time AT normal for the body to BEGIN to heal. And this may help you to understand why your doctor doesn’t seem to be paying much attention to your symptoms at this point in time, and is paying more attention to levels. Controlling your thyroid levels right now — or whenever that day comes — is a huge factor in starting your body on the healing process.
