    Hi Monika,

That sounds like a rough night. When I was hyper I often felt cold and then used too many blankets, resulting in getting too hot while I slept and waking up soaking wet as you described. I haven’t been on PTU so can’t comment on that aspect from personal experience. Are you thinking these problems might be related to PTU? If so, I’d definitely give the doctor a call.

I hope you are feeling better soon and don’t have these problems too many more nights.

Monika – I have not been on PTU, but I know that since I’ve had Graves’, it’s a wonder I have not broken my thermostat with all the turning up and turning down I do. It seems I cannot keep my body at a comfortable temperature. I’ve also had problems (not temp-related) with taking Tapezol, so I agree you should ask your doctor.

Hi, just wanted to let you all know that I am ovet temperature issues. My family Dr gave me glycopyrrolate for 2 weeks. It worked wonders. I have to switched PTU to topazole (very itchy hands and low white bloos cells) this week. I hope it works better. I think I don’t want to get rid of my thyroid (don’t like to kill victim without treating source of complications)

I have been taking PTU for a year. I am 43 years old and ready to scream. I have gone from hyper to hypo and I cannot seem to get regulated. I am in the process of switching doctors, and while I do not have stomach problems, I am frozen 24/7, and do the same at night that you reported. I go to bed freezing and wake up soaked.

I wish I had the problem you guys have. I would take cold over hot any day. I feel like the sun is always beaming straight on the back of my neck. At night, as soon as I put covers on I am sweating. I try not to discomfort others; so I have my ceiling fan and an oscillating fan just to get me through the night.
I told my mother, with all this stuff going on menopause will be a walk in the park!

Hey when I was swinging back and forward between hypo and hyper it was a terrible time I remember when I was hypo going to bed with a hot water bottle.

But I would agree with a comment made about taking cold over hot any day. I can’t eat hot meals, drinks etc.. its cold yogurts from the back of the fridge and drinks that are almost full of ice  sweating all time –changing my top several times a day if its a bad day and even in the middle of winter in Scotland sitting in my back garden having my breakfast

    Hope you get sorted soon
