Yes, flaxseed oil is safe for us to take. If you use the whole flaxseeds, it is best to grind them up before consuming them, as otherwise they can pass right on through our GI system. The oil is great for cooking, etc, too.

The fish oil capsules should be safe, as well. It is the iodine that can get us into trouble. I believe that has been removed from the capsules but I am not 100% certian on that. Cathy

I have read a lot about the positive effects of Omega 3 and that flaxseed oil and fish are the best sources. I also have read that as far as Graves in concerned seaweed is not a good thing. Fish is a great source of Omega 3 because the fish eat the seaweed. Is flaxseed oil safe to take for a person with Graves? I have also read that it is very good for general mood and psyc issues. Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks,
    Kam

I take a fish oil capsule everyday and my doctor doesn’t have a problem with it but the best thing is to double check with your dr.

It is good to ask our doctor and pharmacist about flax seed oil and if it will interact with your levels. In general it is not a bad thing. You can also buy flax seed meal to sprinkle on your food. It is pretty much tasteless and is also a good source of fiber.

    Hi All,

I’ve just bought ‘vegetarian omega 3 capsules’ which are pure flaxseed oil. Just take them like fish oil capsules once a day. Nice & easy! <img decoding=” title=”Razz” />
