    What a cool thread!

If it’s raining or cruddy out and you can’t get out doors, try some of these:

Paint a crazy picture! Everybody has talent!
    Indulge in a hobby
    Write some prose or poetry
Burn some CDs and make comp albums
Pick up a phone and call somebody you haven’t heard from in a dog’s age

Or make a list of three good things that happened during the day each night. Write it down.

    For today my list is:
Eye plugs that are making a difference – I can read without using gallons of tears!
Having medical education so I can advocate for myself
Having enough of a tax return to invest in a small deep freeze and filling it full of healthy food (and my pantry, too) so I can get through summer semester without too much fast food.

Oh – one more – Spring and my yard and watching the first flowers bloom. C

I just wanted to take a few minutes to remind everyone that life is short….. It’s spring, whether you are feeling crappy or great get out of the house and let the sun shine on you. That vitamin D will surely help you. Go smell the flowers coming up and STOP and look at your kids and grandkids, if you don’t have any then go to a friends house. Get off yer butt and move, put the oldies on, put rock on and jam to, add some heavy metal(only the 80’s stuff though) and rock yer head to it !, put some soft music in there and then get retro if you have to, then sit back and melt to the ballads of what reminds you of good times.(nothing that reminds you of some jerk that made you feel bad ok!!)

This is a time that we get out and move and stretch ourselves like cats and get work done. Graves’ patients don’t have that luxury sometimes and it’s hard to deal with so I am reminding you that if you are one of those people get out anyway. You don’t have to clean but you need to move your body and get out while you can. Don’t let the 4 walls of your house be the only thing you see. If you are recovering or in remission then get out there too!!!!

Take care of yourself first because if you don’t you can’t help take care of anyone else.

We all must think alike in someways. I took my children to the beach this weekend; I felt like crap….BUT it was beautiful out. I haven’t done any of that in so long it brought tears to my eyes to see how happy they both were to be outdoors. I have day by day since then, been cleaning house.

My birthday is Monday. I am a Spring baby!lol So I have decided to enjoy the sunshine whether I like it or not!

I painted the outside of my house. Six weeks post soulder surgery and a Grave’s warrior. I did not feel like doing it at all. Pretty much felt like a slug but as you are discovering if we do things even when we do not feel like it we do get a sense of accomplishment.

I did see my endo last week. I am on six month followups. Thyroid levels are good, B12 is good, eye measurements are improved ( from 20 and 22 to 20 and 18) from six months ago. All in all a good endo visit

I am feeling good and life is not so bad. I have Graves’ and life is good…

I invited 3 families that live in apartments to plant a garden next to mine. Now I will have to go out there every day because I have people back there working in their garden. My husband made the garden in the back acre, 1/2 block from the house. Is that a reason to walk or not?
Sometimes we have to make a reason to go walk or just get out.

    Great ideas.

I’m into lists – like Cathy. I call them my list of threes. I try to do them every night.

3 things I’m grateful for (sometimes it’s hard to remember that blessings FAR outweigh troubles)
3 things I did for MYSELF today to get/stay healthy
3 things I did for/with my kids today that made them happy
3 accomplishments/chores (sometimes they are not huge – but they still count)
3 of the symptoms that bothered me most
3 things I’m going to do tomorrow

Sometimes 3 of each doesn’t happen, and that’s OK. I don’t do this to put pressure on myself to get all of that done. I do it to focus on whatever I do accomplish and to realize that even on "bad" days, life isn’t really as bad as it may seem to me. It’s also nice to look back on when I’m in need of a lift.

Good ideas….I love the outdoors, but when I am stuck inside I like music as it is or can be therapy to me….I just was running a song thru my head and had to share a few of them with ya’ll….maybe just my twisted way of dealing with things but here they are…

    1. Radioactive…by the Firm…an 80’s band

    2. Shakin’…by Eddie Money

    3. Fight the good fight….Triumph

Anyone got any others? Maybe we could help Marpo put them on a CD for her site????

Thanks Mamabear for reminding us to enjoy life and the little things that come to us that we take for granted.

    On my to do list:
    1. tell everyone I love how important they are to me
    2. smell the flowers & the coffee & the chocolate
    3. enjoy everyday God gives me
    4. Smile as much as possible (give a smile to someone, it doesn’t cost a thing)
    5. Remember to BLINK! (okay so I have to be practical too!)

It is important to stay positive and do not sweat the small stuff.
As much as having Graves drives me carzy…I am lucky comapred to many others.
If you have to be something in this life…BE POSITIVE.
    (actually I am…that’s my blood type…haha)

I am sooooooooo grateful to have you all to sound off to and gather strength from.I do not post all the time…sometimes I just come on the board and read a few post and I always leave smily from the good vibes and positive energy.
    You all are my heroes.

BTW…was that George/Jake’s picture with a fish on his head…my eyes are not so good right now with TED…but, I though I saw a fish on the man’s head.

Here’s a couple of song titles from me before Graves Diagnoses:
Whole Lot of Shakin’ Going On
    Crazy
    Hot, Hot, Hot

Here’s a song title from me after TED surgery:
    I Can See Nearly Now

    Love & blessing to all,

That’s Jake’s new picture all right, but I can’t say for sure it’s a fish on his head. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> I was thinking some kind of feathers, considering his Native American heritage….

    Jake ~ enlighten us!? GREAT picture. <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />
