I am trying to remember, but It should not matter if you take it at night or not. It takes synthroid 21 days to get to full strength in our bodies so I cannot imagine why it would be be harmful to take it at night verses morning.

I take mine in the morning. I have a little ritual to take my pills so I always know if I took them or not. If my morning routine gets changed I have to look to see if I took my pills. More often than not, I missed taking them.

So plan on a time, take them then and keep to that schedule.

I haven’t yet started on replacement hormone as my RAI hasn’t finished it’s job but I was wondering if anyone else takes their hormone at night before bed. It seems like this would be a good idea since I have to take other things in the morning.

You just have to take it on an empty stomach, that’s why most people opt for morning. Otherwise, you should have at least a couple of hours (preferably 3 or 4) since you’ve eaten, before you take the replacement hormone.

I read a medical article bout this some time ago.

Mary Shomon offers a nuanced report about it: http://thyroid.about.com/od/thyroiddrug … edtime.htm

Thanks for all the responses. I will read the article. I hoped that I might be able to start hormone soon but my numbers after my RAI were in normal range and then went very hyper again a few weeks after that. I have blood work again in two weeks and we’ll see then. I know it’s a process but I feel like I’m stalling out sometimes.
