Hey I gather synthyroid is what we call thyroxine over here in the UK? It sounds as though you are having anxiety dreams But its most likely now that your levels are coming into range you are going into a deeper sleep??? Maybe?

I know when I am pregnant (sure a lot of woman on here will agree) I went into the deepest sleeps and had more dreams lol.. These hormones eh?

Are you eating before you go to bed? It could all be a combination of settling levels, anxiety and your stomach.

Happy sleeping with sweet dreams lol!! xxx

Krystal, my dreams have been very weird all through this crazy ride. The other night I dreamed that my dog got her paws pierced and she had a little ring on the top of each toe! Are you starting to feel any different on the synthroid?

Yeah I believe so:) I think we have the thyroxine too! Synthroid is the name brand of the levothyroxine for us. Lacie that is hilarious oh my goodness. As far as feeling any different I have, just not sure if its in a good or bad way:( I have had these bad dreams, anxiety and fear of having a seizure which is a rare side effect. However, since I have experienced seizures from meds its freaking me out everytime I take it. Im still feeling a lil off balance at times like I’m "wall banging, wall hugging" I dont know what to think anymore:(

Okay. I have been having thee weirdest dreams since i have started taking synthroid. I had a dream that all my dogs and cats where on fire and could visible see the flames and marks from the fire damage. I had a dream i was in a pop video concert. I just last night had a dream my body morphed into an elderly body. Im talking shrivled up chest, wrinkled face and body. My legs looked like chicken legs and one was turning in and could hardly walk on it. I went to my dr office to show them but the receptionist said i looked beautiful and other patients were yelling out HEY DOC WHERE IS MY PAIN MEDS AND WHEN AM I GOING TO BE SEEN. I mean these are Freaking weird people.

I bet he wonders what the heck is going on with this woman of his lol

I almost never remember my dreams. Probably only 99% of the time and when I do I only remember a few seconds of it.

I have noticed that the Tapozole and/or Inderal has caused me to remember my dreams more frequently. It’s strange just to have a normal dream. So, that must be WEIRD having those dreams!!! I wouldn’t mind being in a pop video concert!

Are any of you taking something for sleep? One of the side effects of many of them is "vivid dreams". I will look up Synthroid and see if that is one of the side effects. I don’t recall ever reading that–but that doesn’t mean a thing. Between memory and double vision, I miss a lot of things.

If anyone wants to start it, we could do a post on describe your wierd dreams. I have a couple that were doozies. Mostly I don’t remember them.

I thought I was alone!! I have been dreaming of everything from the Christ’s return, to dead people (my dad), to people I barely know coming into my home to do home projects. These are all so very real — that when I wake I am checking everything to see if they really happened. I am to the Synthroid and my endo said that "some" patients experience strange dreams.
And last night I dreamed that i had 20 children under the age of 8 yrs — they were running around my house and it was maddness. It was so real that i went into my 2 children’s rooms to make sure that they were the only 2 that I had!!

I promised to locate the side effects:

Common Reactions
palpitations
appetite incr.
tachycardia
nervousness
tremor
weight loss
diaphoresis
diarrhea
abdominal cramps
insomnia
fever
headache
alopecia
heat intolerance
menstrual irregularities
nausea
anxiety

That doesn’t mean we DON’T have wierd dreams. Maybe it’s just the thyroid hormone level, not the brand?

Okay,
What happens if you HAVE A LOT OF THEM…. LOL. Im not sure but my anxiety has NOT SUBSIDED. I can’t take any of the medications due to my low threshold to seizure activity. I don’t know how else to treat it. Cognitive thearpy helps TO AN EXTENT but not to a point that I am "cured".

Nancy thanks for that info!

I don’t know if I could survive a seperate thread for dreams as I can’t stop laughing at runlacie and it was lethal even coming on here tonight with stitches in my wound lol!

I certainly have been dreaming more and I do think it is perhaps down to hormonal influences. Some of my dreams are real hooters! As long as there are no dream pyschologists on here then I will be happy share my most strangest and funniest dreams <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> . Sometimes my hubby thinks I am complete nuts! He said one morning – you are weird you were talking in your sleep last night! I was being defensive and then I blurted out "Oh I had a dream I went to the moon last night" he just collapsed on the floor in fits

I even had a dream I was married to George Clooney – oh boy was that depressing when I woke up and it wasn’t true!

My anxiety dreams are always to do with flying and I can’t get to my seat on time to get my belt on – those are horrible

I believe that Nancy is correct in her assessment. The vivid dreams are part of fluctuating hormones and really don’t have much to do with synthroid or antithyroid medication directly.

My personal experiences was that I too had incredibly vivid dreams, usually when my thyroid levels were on the way up, not on the way down. This while adjusting my doses of antithyroid medication. Once my thyroid levels stabilized, the frequency of the vivid dreams diminished as well.

I can say that I too have been having VERY WEIRD and vivid dreams!! Asside from being pregnant, I almost NEVER remember my dreams……up until lately. I’m taking 10 tapazole at morning 5 mid day and 10 at night. I’m also taking Zyrtec to combat hives from the tapazole and Inderal to lower my heart rate. I went to the doctor yesterday because I have a stomach bug that has lingered on past a week (I never have it for more than 24 hours), anyway my GP and I both laughed cause I walked out with 8 prescriptions…….

My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy too because I tell him some of my dreams…….and he says I have started to talk. He will ask me "hey, do you remember telling me………….last night, or were you sleeping" and half the time I remember me saying it in my dream. Also before now I have NEVER EVER woke up in the middle of a dream to fall back to sleep and be in the same place in the dream. The other night it happened 3 times!!! It’s crazy!! Maybe I should keep a dream log……..it’s some funny stuff!!!!!!
