Good news from the blood tests yesterday. I hope the nurse that asked me about all the testing looked at the results. Three weeks ago tsh .004. Reported this afternoon tsh 19.8 Yes 19.8. I called my Dad and as he was writing it down to tell my Mom he said "where is that decimal?’
Missed the endo’s office by a few minutes so will have to call them tomorrow and have the info faxed over.

I faxed my last two test results to my endo’s office this morning and he has already called me back. We agreed that going off the tapazole and starting levoxyl at 25 mg will be a great start. I will do that for four weeks and then get blood work done to see if it has moved the tsh down again. I will be taking Levoxyl brand instead of synthroid or levothroid because they both have povidone in them and we think that is what made me have the bad rash a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the high fives and hugs. I woke up from a 1.5 hour nap this morning and my pulse was 65! I really think this is it.

Krystal,
If you see this I want to thank you for letting us all know about when you started the hormone replacement how bad you felt for a few days. I am feeling the wall hugging and my pulse is so low for me that I feel like I’m walking in mud. I know this will pass because of what you told us during your time.Hope you are well today.

ok…. I would love to slap high fives but I am soooooooooo confused and scared to death to be honest. Isn’t 19.8 really really Hypothyroid?
Mamabear,
The way SKI explained it on one post I read was that at a certain point you really can’t be more hypo after a certain number. It’s just your body yelling louder and louder to make some tsh. I think that some of the other numbers I’ve read have been way higher than mine when they were finally caught after RAI. I think Krystal’s was really high. Can’t remember the exact number. Funny that it makes you freak out but when my endo called me back after I faxed him the latest labs he said "it looks like you’ve gone a little hypo." He never gets really rattled about anything and always has the same voice. Thanks for the worry but I’m going to be ok after I can get through this initiation I think.

SO, I woke up last night in the middle of the night and my HR was 40. I’m cool with 45- since that was my resting heart rate before all of this, and quite possibly it could have been 40 in the middle of the night before… but I decided I’d better get my labs done today rather than wait. Had to beg to get them done since my endo is off on Fridays and the office wouldn’t call her, they said I could make an appt. and see my family doctor- but I told them that was quite silly to waste a doctor appointment, my money, my insurance money, when all I needed was labs and I had a scrip for Sept 21, I just needed them now instead. I told them I’d just have my husband call the family doc on his cell since they are friends, and then eventually I told them NEVERMIND, I’ll just go to the ER if I think my pulse is too low.. finally she (the receptionist) said she’d speak to the doctor and call me back. Anyways, she called back right away and said the doctor said go ahead in and get them done today. I guess you just have to be persistent sometimes- my husband made up a new word and said I was "bitchsistent", but it worked and anyways I shouldn’t have to beg and plead for labs. Now I have to wait until Tuesday for the results. And I guess I’ll just jump up and down if my pulse gets too low, haha.
Maybe I am up up and away, too??? ” title=”Cool” />
Lacie,
Could be…….. I felt the same way going on Tuesday for my labs. I’ll be thinking about you over the weekend. I did drink some caffeine when I was feeling really low on my pulse to see what it did. It raised it a little but not very much and no palpitations either. I like your new word.ewmb
ewmb – mmm, I love coffee. Even when I was waybo-hyper I still had to have a pot a day. Right now I’m seriously getting fat. I look THICK, even my arms and legs – like overnight I’m turning into the incredible hulk or something. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since my muscle all wasted away seemingly overnight when I got sick. I’m scared to get on the scale . And I’m hardly eating much of anything at all! Either I’m hypo or else I was borderline hyper for a lot longer than I thought cause I could always eat 1500 calories and not gain. Now I’m eating less than that AND running. Hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. Wow, looks like we can finally see the other side of the tunnel from this mess, huh???
Lacie,
I am trying to enjoy the weekend. I too feel that even though I have been overweight for months now that I feel rolly polly and jelly like. My stomach hasn’t looked so big since I was pregnant 16 years ago. I am trying to feel good about getting healthier. I think that my hormones are all in a jumble still though. I read a story about a blind cat this morning in a magazine and I immediately started crying……. I also have three large pimples on my face and I’m not usually prone to these anymore. It will be interesting to see what happens. I hope to start after my son leaves to go back to college on Monday with a simple exercise plan. It’s been a long time for me and my hit and miss approach isn’t so effective. I hope that I can get back to work more of the day too.Hope that you hear some good news on Tuesday. It’s hard to wait.
