    Hi all.

It’s been a VERY long time since I’ve posted…life is back to CRAZY and I feel well enough to be enjoying it.

    Quick recap on me…

I began methimazole March 2009 at 5mg. Began to feel better in July….all levels were well into the normal ranges by September and have stayed there since. I have very few symptoms – feel ALMOST 100%. I still get tremors when I’m overly stressed, tired, etc.

My endo wants me to cut back to 2.5 mg and be checked in 8 weeks (or sooner if I feel symptomatic). If my body is doing OK on that dose, she wants to continue that until Sept and then possibly wean me completely.

From what I’ve read, this seems reasonable, but I’d love to hear your wise opinions. <img decoding=” title=”Smile” />

I’m sure you’ll get some great advice from people in successful remission ~ the only think I know to say is that you may want to have your antibody levels tested just before you stop taking it completely. Your odds for success are better if those antibody levels are low at the time. They don’t equate with your thyroid hormone levels, necessarily, but they CAN be a predictor of a potential relapse, so give yourself the best possible shot.
