Jo,

I am SO glad to see your news! Congratulations on everything, I’m happy you figured out a way to get what you needed, and it worked out so beautifully! Excellent news for those in the "before" state as well, thanks so much for sharing. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

Hello everybody I just had scarless endoscopic OD via the lower lids. My eyes are set back somewhat but still swollen and bruised. The pain is nothing and the operation went very smoothly. I do not have any swelling or bruising on my upper lids and they bulgy look from up there has gone! <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> I paid for this privately in the UK with a MR Tristan Reuser. I feel the pressure I did not know was there has gone and my eyes are resting back further in the sockets. No immense pain at all no immediate discomfort. This is the way forward no scars or real bad down time. I would be happy to answer questions and post photos if you need any advise, I had an OD via the nasal route and it was very painful with little result really for the effort but that was eight years ago now. This is day two, I am still waiting for the nasty pain but no it is really brilliant. I hope I have been lucky for once lol  So relived to be free of the bulgy eyes I can see such a marked difference already. I do not know who offers this technique in the USA but it has worked wonders for me here. I will post back soon and let you all know how it goes. I am about 14 years after getting ill (30 now) feel I am finally getting myself back, my self worth and self esteem back too. Good luck to everybody many hugs Jo xx

Hi Ski an thanks <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> I am day 5 since surgery now the drugs have worn off I am in some pain Not too bad but the eyes themselves are hurting. I just wanted to ask if any one experienced nausea after their OD? I am getting feelings of sickness waving over me a few times a day, I am only on paracetamol and the odd diflofenac so reason from the meds…..I do have some slight difference but now the swelling on the outside is settling I must say I was a bit dissapointed I did not get the immediate set back look. I know I know it’s only day 5! But I am hoping they will settle more? My surgeon assures me they will in weeks and months but, I don’t know, I feel I see a change BUT maybe I hoped for too much? The actual eyeball is flatter in the head it was sort of cone shaped before so there is a change….What a struggle this eye business is  the bruising is fading away like the snow in spring, I hope I can find the strength to cope if I don’t achieve the look I had in my mind I can’t have nay more surgery the road for me with is closed UNLESS they offered a guaranteed solution  but this is it I think I don’t even know why I am considering more surgery I just woke up from the last lot! Anyway I hope somebody can advise I never listen to Doctors anymore really you don’t really know unless you have lived it eh xx Thanks jo xx

Hi, I am two months out from an OD. I had no problem with nausea. The drugs you are taking are the equivalent of an anti-inflammatory and Tylenol. I worked in England as Matron at a public school for a couple years, so I am familiar with your meds. I guess the only thing I can think of regarding nausea, are:
from the general anesthesia, but doubt it because you are several days out from your surgery.
or, if you have had experiences with anti-inflammatories in the past with stomach issues.

I am hoping, with the passing of a few more days, it will become a non-issue for you! Regarding the appearance of the eyes,
it takes more time for the eyes to settle down. There is still swelling, etc, so you will probably see more improvement as weeks go by. I just had my 2 month post op check today, and the measurements show that the eye protrusion has improved since a one month check. I think my eyes look equal now.

So, as you already know, TED is not fun, lasts too long, but I think you are on a downhill slope, with a wonderful experience behind you, and a lot of good stuff to look forward to!!!!
Cheers, Shirley

Hello and thanks for you’re reply <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> I am very happy to hear that your measurements were better month on month, and I have decided to give myself a break! I am going to get some therapy to help me smooth over the insecurities that have cropped up from looking this way for half my life. I think I feel ready to cast off the old me and embrace a new, slightly improved me time for me to be happy I think and hopefully not base this on the way I look but on the love form my kids and husband, the things that should matter to me. I am so over feeling less of a person so thanks for your message please let me know how you are you going in a few weeks and I will check back with hopefully good news about life in general. And just thanks to everybody who has advised me on here this is a very warm and genuine place for people to come <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> All the very best xx
