So, this week marks 8 weeks after my RAI!! I just had labs done and got the phone call that I am officially Hypo and ready to start my replacement. 2 wks ago my TSH was .06, but yesterday it shot up to 38. I knew it could change fast, but wow it was fast! I was feeling great then BAM the last week and a half I was completely drained and had intense joint pain and bloating. But I knew these new (yet annoying) symptoms just mean that I am finally moving onto the next step of recovery. And I am really excited. I get to start TODAY on my 100mg synthroid, so I am really excited. I know there is still a long way to get my old self completely back, but it feels so good to know I am one step closer. Just wanted to let everyone know, and say to anyone who is where I was a couple months ago, you will get there!! I may be fidgeting with my replacement levels for the next year and that wouldn’t be surprising, but I don’t think I will ever feel as horrible as I once did! I don’t regret it at all, in fact I wish I would have done it sooner! I feel so much better already, even with the Hypo symptoms! Yesterday I was all depressed and telling myself "Man! I am so over this, I just want this to be done and I want my body back in my control I hate this blah blah blah….." and now I feel like I’ve done a complete 180! I still am thankful for these boards to know that there are other people that are/will go through the same things…but we just have to know we can get past it!
