Great that you have had a positive shift in your symptoms.
Just recently I stumbled across someone else making the same comment about the "heavy walking in water legs", this may be part of the muscle fatigue issues that GD can bring, I’ll come back to you if I come across it again.
As you’ve no doubt read already there is a whole book of symptoms associated with GD, not everyone gets all of them and not everyone gets them in the same order, so everyones journey is a little different.
Keep a symptoms diary and note all these things down, how your body feels, how you feel emotionally and anything odd that you notice, that way you will have some documented evidence to discuss with your doctors when your appointments come around.
Keep adding positive actions to your regime, like healthy diet, stress management & relaxation, get some light exercise like walking, even if you do feel like you’re dragging your legs around, don’t push it though and also get plenty of sleep, try to get regular sleeping and eating habits, GD likes things to be steady, any sudden changes like skipping meals or lack of sleep can agravate GD symptoms.
Great though that you can feel a positive change, there will be more as your body stabilises, there will be ups & downs, but overall your symptoms should begin to subside.

I called my feeling like that walking in molasses. It felt like I was struggling to cut the air around my legs sometimes. It does get a lot better.

The great news is I know longer feel like I am at deaths door and can venture out into the would for short periods of time…Doing this however brought to my attention a new feeling and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced it?

When I walk my legs feel very heavy, they do not hurt, but it feels as if I am walking in water, it is a little disturbing.

Thank you Harpy and EWMB that is a perfect analogy for the feeling. Again, I hate to see anybody go through this but it is so refreshing to know somwone else knows what I am talking about…
I did talk to my Dr about some other problems I am having (I feel I am getting back some of the scary symtoms), believing my does of 10mg Methimazole would be increased…instead she explianed my symptoms were from hyperthyroidism (I knew this already) and she prescibed me Xanax to help me sleep…I have an appointment with the Mayo clinic this month to get a second opinion about everything.
I like my Dr, but never talk to her directly and everything is relayed through her MA which things can get lost in translation…so thats why I decided to seek another Dr.

You sure said that very well! Things get lost in translation. I am sorry that you cannot speak or email directly with your end. I can, and it has never occurred to him to do it any other way. It makes a huge difference. I am trying to communicate with the surgeon who is doing my surgery next week, and it is IMPOSSIBLE! Whatever I say goes through at least three people, beginning with the voice at the desk who has no familiarity with what I am trying to say, cause it is not her background. But I can’t get past the telephone voice. Will be interested in your experience at Mayo with your second oopinion. Always a good idea to have a pair of fresh eyes and ears. I am a firm believer in 2nd opinions, and 3rd and 4th if issue is a real conundrum.
