Does anyone know if having the 24 hr flu affects your levels? I was doing so much better last week and feeling a lot stronger, and then I got the 24 hr flu. It’s been about 3 days since I’ve been sick but I am back to feeling the weak, shaky, lightheaded feeling that I hate.

Hello – I’ve read that acute illness can cause TSH levels to increase. However, I would report these symptoms to your doc if you don’t get some relief pretty quickly…the flu can be nasty stuff!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks Kimberly. I got to thinking and perhaps i threw up my Synthroid when I was sick…I had only taken it about 30 minutes before I got sick. So I’m afraid I may not feel that great until that builds back up in my system. :s

Hello – Synthroid builds up in the body over a period of several weeks, so you shouldn’t see a *huge* swing from missing a single day’s dose. Don’t be afraid to be the “sqeaky wheel” and call your doc’s office if you aren’t feeling better soon!
